Hi Peter,

I had the same experience, but the bottom line is that you can ignore
those warnings --- the file will print just fine. The warnings are
generated by \specials that are included to allow point and click
editing of the .ly file from xdvi, which incidentally, works very
nicely, and makes correcting .ly files go much faster.

I was refered to the FAQ for more details, and I suggest you do the
same.
