Sounds fine.

>(which I think is everything originating from freenote),
Actually there are a couple of Joplin rags there now, which are also
PD so they don't raise any different licensing questions.
(There are also my own jazz tunes, which are probably not
of that much interest to other people.)

You're also going to need to do some retouching, e.g. of
ornaments, and I suspect that in the retouching process you'll also
catch a few mistakes, which will be good!
I don't think the conversion process is ever likely to be
so automated that one can convert a piece of music without having
to check and retouch it, so rather than an upstream/downstream
situation, it might be more like two versions maintained in
parallel by two people. As long as we keep in touch and keep the
versions consistent, it shouldn't be a problem. Last time I checked,
Johann Sebastian wasn't planning on bringing out Two-Part Inventions
2001 :-) The number of discrepancies between the digital editions
and the Bach Gesellschaft should approach zero quickly, and
then it'll be mature and nearly maintenance free.
I'd also like to suggest that the .ly versions have full
information in their headers about the conversion history, and the
URLs of both sites. (Actually maybe a footer in 8-point type
would be less cumbersome, since the info is going to be pretty
lengthy.)
