I updated my copy after receiving the message saying your changes were
added to CVS. It was still crashing.

I don't think it's part of the crash either. There are too many of
them before the crash. According to
http://www.intuit.com/support/quicken/faqs/win/1181.html
it's the amount of the transaction.
Here's an example similar to an entry my saving's account:

I think this is one of the lines causing the "U" messages.
Also, one small suggestion. If an option like "close" or "open file" is
selected before saving the current file, a dialog box asks the user to
save changes before exiting. The only two choices are "Yes" and "No".
It would be nice to have a "Cancel" option as well.
