Hi, I don't think the file is supposed to be called "environment.local". I think it is literally called "environment".
GnuCash SHOULD take a pt_PT environment and use the "pt" language. I honestly don't know why it is not doing that. Unless there is something about "pt-PT" vs "pt_PT"? I've added gnucash-user to the CC list; your replies will just get moderated, but Liz (the moderator) should clear them up within a day. I don't use Windows myself so I don't have direct experience -- however there ARE a ton of windows users out there and hopefully one of them can help you!
