Thanks Christian. I found it. In libgnomeui "_View" is "_Ver" whereas I was translating it as "_Veja". (as an aside, veja is a better translation, but for now I'll use ver).
You can contact the language team of your language http://developer.gnome.org/projects/gtp/teams.html and propose to them a change for these strings.
So, should I look for any other overlapping translations between libgnomeui? Is there anything else (besides libgnomeui) where this issue exists?
Maybe http://cvs.gnome.org/lxr/source/libgnome/po/ which is libgnome, in addition to libgnomeui. Apart from that I don't think so.
