No, you never need to run autogen.sh after untarring the tarball.
You should run configure.


But, it just seems like a long way to walk to replace @-VERSION-@ with
the corect version, and removing ".in" from the spec file name.

I wonder, would it be possible (desirable?) to do this when building
the distibution tarball?  IE: could "make dist" build the gnucash.spec
file?


That might be a reasonable thing to do...
