By "reply to list", do you mean reply to all, which includes gnucash-user@...? Done. If something else, let me know. I've no experience with this kind of user support group, unlike with the standard forum.
Last email: Yes, the libguile-2.2-1.dll file is there in the gnucash bin folder. It is not quarantined. First email: I did not attach files, as I stated. They were listed in event 1001, but most did not exist . Yes, I have a vanilla W11 Pro installation. It is fairly heavily loaded with running applications, and has many other applications installed. The installed apps shouldn't be a problem, but it seems all the application owners believe that they have the only application in the universe, so they load up the Windows system with a lot of background nonsense consisting of processes and start-on-boot things. One of those is probably the culprit, hence the ability to run on a lightly loaded laptop. I did turn off virus protection for a moment and GnuCash still disappeared in a blink, same application error. Thanks for the quick suggestions! Did you do as John Ralls suggested and check whether your antivirus has quarantined the file ? If it did quarantine it, have you marked it as safe and/or released it from quarantine ? Cheers David H.
