First I say thanks Paul. I tried your idea and it still failed to utilize the
.gnucash file. In fact I am not sure I am saving it in the right place for GC
5.12 on my Win 11 laptop because the place I thought it should go is
write-protected. I will keep trying to find the correct place I should store my
.gnucash file from the GC 5.12 on my Win 10 desktop.
Secondly, somehow my initial email request for help morphed into a different
request for help with locating backup files in Gnucash. I am still trying to
just recreate my version GC 5.12 on Win 10 desktop onto my installed version
5.12 Win 11 laptop.

 Hi Joseph,

That doesn't sound difficult at all, you just have to install GnuCash on
the Win 11 Laptop, copy the .gnucash file over and open in there.

Unless I'm missing something obvious.
