The thread didn't morph, but somehow the explanation of the "backup"
reference hasn't been explained well.

You found your xxx.gnucash file in "Documents" I recall.
Documents is a place to which you can write; make yourself a directory
equivalent to Documents and call it "Gnucash"; save your xxx.gnucash
file there.

I assure you it will be much easier to find in a directory called
"Gnucash"
