Sure ... but in the meanwhile, the System Preferences application seems like
the best place.  Maybe a new 'Backend' module ?  There are interesting X11 
settings
to configure as well. :-)

PS: What is the relationship between 'SystemPreferences.app' in GNUstep 
usr-apps subversion
and the Backbone 'Preferences.app' ?  Should/could they be merged ?  (apologies 
if it's a
stupid/dummy question)
