Thanks to Kees & Marc for responding to my question. Over the weekend I had a closer look at DJGPP site and if you ignore the ZipPicker (which did not recommend I download any files containing bash) but follow the links to FAQ -> where can I download? -> Simtel Mirrors you will find there are vast numbers of files that can be downloaded, including a bash shell.
Thanks for the advice about slashes in paths, I'll probably need it.
