Dear Vidya I do like -- and have been waiting for just this. Translation that connects worlds. Particularly this Goan fictional world written in Konkani. Its English fictional counterpart in the Goan context is often disappointing, although Goans seem to replace their native tongue with English quite readily. Writing fiction in English in a non English environment is a challenge, I think, particularly when it comes to dialogue. The reverse I expect is equally so. How, for example, does one translate the Yorkshire dialect in Wuthering Heights into Konkani or Russian or whatever? Good translators are heroes and heroines. To have the book in digital form completes the circle. Thank you and Bloomsbury India. Jeanne
