First let me remind everyone that the vast majority of open access journals do 
NOT charge article processing fees. Also, open access publishing is only one of 
the two major approaches to making our work open access, along with open access 
archiving.

The purpose of this forthcoming research project is to track developments of OA 
article processing fees, noting any trend toward competition or unwarranted 
increases (similar to the tracking of serials prices in the annual Library 
Journal report).
