Dears,
There is a change in the MANDATE of the Task Force on Regional Plan 2021
constituted by the Government of Goa vide Notification No. 9/8/TCP/Pt.file/Task
Force/RP/2007/3353 dated 04 October, 2007 and published in the Official Gazete
the same month has been CHANGED vide Notification No.29/8/TCP/Pt.file/Task
Force/RP/05-08/812 dated 26 February, 2008. The new notification is published
in the OFFICIAL GAZETTE [Extraordinary No.4] Series II No. 47 dated 26
February, 2008.
Whereas in the old mandate the Task force would merely prepatre the
GUIDELINES for preparing the Regional Plan 2021, as per the new mandate
Quote" THE TASK FORCE WILL RECOMMEND A VERY GENERALIZED DRAFT REGIONAL
STRUCTURAL PLAN FOR GOA 2021 WHICH WILL COMPRISE OF SPATIAL AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC
POLICIES AND STRATEGIES."Unquote
The new Notification is expressly in "Supercession of the notification of
4/10/2007"
It states "The Task Force will meet at least once every 15 days and submit
an interim report to the Government on or before 15 December, 2007 and a final
report by 15 December, 2007 [These dates are now 15 March, 2008 and 31 May
2008.]
The Interim Report [due on 15 March, 2008 as per the Notication of 26
February, 2008] is yet to be issued. It is likely to be issued by 15 April,
2008 as per some indications. When the Official Gazette of Goa cannot be relied
on for dates of the Interim Report, there is no point in putting an adjective
before official information from unofficial sources or unofficial information
from official sources, as the case may be.
These are public documents. [You can buy a copy at the Government Printing
Press, first floor, Opposite Souza & Paul, in the same block as the IMB and
Police HQ, Panaji for as little as Rs.2/-]
As in the case of "Marriage bands", the citizens have a duty to communicate
their objections now ...or forever hold their peace after the deed is done!
Mog asundi.
