Not that rebuttals are favored, but if I am not mistaken even Parsees have 
some customs re cow's urine :-) 

Hence, it is best to take a holistic approach to age-old customs and 
practices. You may not agree with me, but somehow my gut feeling is that our 
forebears had far greater insight. knowledge and wisdom than many of our 
contemporaries :(

I and my wife believe and have faith in what Subhash Paradkar talks about, 
like bitter gourd (karela), fenugreek (methi), neem leaves and jamun seed 
(don't know those botanical names). Also a horde other home remedies.

Isn't it true that modern medicine has just learnt and come to realize the 
beneficial effects of using leeches for blood control, etc., ordinarily 
termed old wives tales?
