--- Manisha Koirala fails to prevent release of 'vulgar' film By Shiv Kumar, Indo-Asian News Service Mumbai, Aug 30 (IANS) Film actress Manisha Koirala Friday failed in her bid to prevent the release of her latest film that she contends is "vulgar" and portrays her in bad light. The Bombay High Court permitted the release of the film "Ek Chotti Si Love Story" after dismissing a petition filed by Koirala urging that it be banned. Judge F. I. Rebello ruled after viewing the film that it did not defame Koirala as the actress had contended. The judge had asked producer Shashilal Nair to arrange for a screening of the movie before passing his judgement. Koirala objected to some nude scenes in the movie that Nair says was shot using a body double. In her petition, Koirala alleged that she was portrayed in a bad light in the movie. Koirala also accused the producer of breach of contract. Nair told the court that he was prepared to state in the credits that a body double had been used in the film. He also produced an affidavit in court stating that the film was twice seen and approved by Koirala and it was at her instance that a duplicate was used since she had become obese. Koirala, however, denied that she had become obese and argued that the film contained vulgar scenes shot using her duplicate. The release of the movie was stayed on August 14.
