UGDP UNDECIDED ON CORPORATION BILL: While the legislators of the United Goans Democratic Party have support the Chief Minister Mr Manohar Parrikar's Panaji Corporation Bill in their personal capacities, the party as a whole is yet to decide whether to extend its support to the controversial bill or not. The AG was replying to a petition filed by the Goa Foundation, challenging the appointment of former MLA Arecio D'Souza to the GSPCB on the ground that he was not qualified for the job. (H) FIVE-YEAR TERM FOR RAPIST: South Goa Sessions and District Court yesterday sentenced a rapist (Raju Pagui of Sadolxem, Canacona) to five years rigorous imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs.10,000 to the minor victim, a 13-year-old girl, in a school toilet in November 2000. (GT) MYSTERY SHOULDS YOUTH'S DEATH: The highly decomposed body of one Vishal Carvalho, 19) from Uguem-Sanguem, was found in the jungle, about 2 km away from his residence on September 11. He was stated to be missing since September 1.
