Friends, Let us remember this day - February 4 - in a special way and with fondness, it being the 16th anniversary of the passing of the Official Language Act by the Legislative Assembly of the then Union Territory of Goa, Daman and Diu, by virtue of which Konkani became the official language of Goa. And let us pray that the Act is at an early date reformulated so that no doubts remain that Konkani is the SOLE official language of the State of Goa, without any special status being accorded to Marathi. Will the Chief Minister and the Speaker of the Assembly take measures to grant Goans this act of justice, thus strengthening their sense of "Goychi Osmitai" (Identity of Goa)? Jorge
