Konkani short-story writer Damodar Mauzo and a "Katha" award-winner, whose novel "Carmelin" is to be soon published in an English translation, this week is to present in Delhi a young colleague from Goa, Prakash S. Pariekar, whose short story "Chandrakor" has also been picked for a Katha award. The occasion will be the Katha International Fiction Festival, which will also see the participation of the Australians Peter Carey and Kim Scott. Victor Rangel-Ribeiro, in Goa till March, will be reading from his currently out-of-print (and hopefully to-be-reprinted novel) 'Tivolem' on February 14. Incidentally, his short story collection, "Loving Ayesha", has been published in Delhi, and copies will be available in Goa "within ten days", according to the author. "Katha is an extraordinary literary organization that publishes short fiction and novels in all of India's 15 official languages," in Rangel-Ribeiro's view.
