The decision was taken as the bus operators meeting held in city this morning. In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Parrikar the association president, Mr Subash Sawant and the general secretary, Mr Subash Kalangutkar have said that the diesel price has been increased by 85 per cent and that the business cannot be managed with the such a hike. The association said that the last passenger fare structure was finalized when the price of diesel was Rs 11.10 per lt but the price has now has been increased to Rs 20.75 per lt and therefore pleaded to allow an increase in the fare. The association also said that the 50 per cent students concession be allowed on the revised passenger fare structure. The proposed passenger fare structure has been ratified by the association general body meeting.
