I find it astonishing that anyone can label Frederick as a 'mediocre' journalist.I have been reading Fred's reports and special features in the local press for many years now and his name would always draw me to reading an article. His reports show foresight and an objective incisiveness that not many journos have. His writing is also genial and positive in approach. I have always felt that this is a man who is constantly thinking ahead, laterally and 'out-of-the-box'.I finally had the pleasure of meeting him in person some months back.
Maybe his non-aggressive nature has been misconstrued by Edgar to imply a reluctance to take on the establishment. But I can say confidently that most of Fred's writing tackles the root causes of issues in society which eventually manifest as corruption and other evils. I personally salute Fred, his writing and his endeavours. May his tribe grow. There are enough journos who are banging their heads on the stonewalls of corruption. An efficient Fourth Estate must comprise of these journos as well as men like Fred who probe deep into social issues and inspire the next generation. Note how Fred has disarmed his attacker with a simple self-deprecating attitude. A Gandhian approach well applied. There lies his greatness. ---Jose Lourenco > On Sun, 10 Aug 2003 [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > > Fred writes nonsence as I have often stated that > he is a mediocre > > journalist.
