CELEBRATE WORLD GOA DAY 2003
The Goan Overseas Association (GOA), Qatar is all set to organise "WORLD GOA
DAY" on 20th August 2003 with the Holy Mass offered by G.O.A. at the Parish
Centre at 7.00 p.m., and thereafter the official Konkani Language Course
Launching Ceremony at the Doha Palace Hotel at 8.00 p.m.
"THE KONKANI LANGUAGE COURSE LAUNCHING CEREMONY" will be held at the hands
of Mr. M. C. Naithani, Counsellor at the Indian Embassy who will be the
Chief Guest. The Guests of Honour will be Mr. Walter Dias - Acting Area
Manager at Gulf Air, Fr. Jose Thachukunnel - Assistant Parish Priest of
Catholic Missions Qatar, Mr. Basil Coutinho - Commercial Manager at
Commercial Bank, and Mr. Rui Fernandes, a prominent Konkani lover.
Mr. Eddie Sequeira of Gulf Times who is a konkani writer, actor, director
and poet, and Mr. Alex Gonsalves, Managing Director of Refrigeration World
and Marine Services will be the Special Guests.
Konkani is the official language of GOA and the theme of "Giving back to
Goa" is a good way to inspire the Goan community to do more for Goa and
Goans worldwide. On this occasion G.O.A. has given the call to Goans
