The world circuits of sex-tourism are abandoning countries like Thailand and now prefer less exposed places like Goa. It's an explosive social problem that is sometimes ignored by the authorities. This movie will be followed by an open debate with the audience and some invitees on the various problems and challendes Goa is facing today, in areas like health care, ecology, heritage and education. --- FRIDAY, 19th of SEPTEMBER --- AMCHEM NOXIB 1962, 118', Konkani Auditorium of the National Ethnology Museum 7 pm, Free A classic of Goan cinema, with excellent contributions bt Anthony Mendes, C. @lvares, Ophelia Cabral and Souza Ferrco, besides other great names of the goan "tiatr". It's an excellent opportunity to see again (or fot the first time) these beautiful images of Goa in the sixties, with superb music and much comedy. A movie that delights every cinema-lover! --- SATURDAY, 20th of SEPTEMBER --- GOA, DAMAN AND DIU FESTIVAL Casa de Goa, Lisbon, 3 pm - 7 pm On this afternoon we will join hand as a community and have much fun, celebrating our identity and promoting it to our portuguese visitors. We will have a typical tea with goan food and drinks and the music and dances presentations by the groups Surya and Ekvbt (to be confirmed). The younger ones organize a photo exihibition "A young look on Goa, Daman and Diu". With the support of the Portuguese Carrom Association we will have a great carom tournament in two divisions: younger ones (beginners) and "experts"! There will also be a slide-show room and we will screen documentaries on Goa and Daman. Because we truly want to "give back" there will be a donation campaign to help the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic Daman bridge accident. CLOSING DINNER (20:45): All 6 associations' leaders and members get together at the goan restaurant Xanti to discuss the future of our community and how to "give back to Goa".
