Well said, Fred! If everybody followed the basic etiquettes, things would be a
lot easier. As you have said - "attack the messenger if you don't like the
message" type of mentality, has to change. When egos clash, it spells trouble.
A graceful exit from any discussion one does not agree with, would perhaps be the
best for everybody. That is perhaps very hard to achieve. Over the years, I have
seen spurts in discussions that get out hand and then I think sanity prevails.


In any case, nothing like starting out the day by reading the discussions on Goanet!

Santosh, IMHO the problem starts when people respond to a set of views
they don't like by attacking the person posting it, sending in troll
posts, baiting that person and getting him or her caught up in personal
abuse and a whole lot of controversy.

whatever sort to settle, or suffer from unhealed wounds of the past, and
instead carry on with the interesting inputs he has been giving us from
