I think broadband is offered, among others, by Dishnet. But there seems to be a maximum-downloadable limit, beyond which more charges apply. With my email-intensive operations, I'm quite happy with good old dial-up and a B&W command-line (no xWindows!) monitor. If there's a power shutdown, I can keep working for upto eight hours this way! But one of my younger and tech-savvy friend was suggesting that it makes more sense to go in for BSNL's 'unlimited' offer (Rs 399 or Rs 499 pm) rather than going in for broadband, in view of the maximum-limit charges. I might be wrong on this, and my information is not uptodate. Copying this to Mini Jerome, an officer at the BSNL-Goa, for more inputs.
