24 February 2005 DIVO SAHITY PUROSKAR 2004 Every year Divo Konkani Weekly from Mumbai gives Divo Literary Award to Konkani writers. For the year 2004 Fr. Pratap Naik, S.J., the director of Thomas Stephens Konknni Kendr, Alto Porvorim and Konkani novelist and short story writer Mr. Valerian Quadros were selected. Fr. Pratap Naik was chosen for his contribution to Konkani language and research. The award consists of Rs 25,000/- each, a citation, a shawl, a traditional oil lamp and a fruit tray. The award giving function was held at Dr. Antonio da Silva School Hall, Dadar West, Mumbai on Sunday February 13, 2005 at 10.30 a.m. Mr. Alfred D'Souza was the Chief guest and gave the award to the recipients. Mr. Benn Lewis, the MD of Benn Electricals Pvt. Ltd. was the guest of honour. The award giving function was followed by lunch and Konkani music programme by Mr. Wilfred Fernandes and his group.
