In the TIMES OF NDIA supplement GOA PLUS dated May 27-June 2, 2005, there is
a front page report titled "Memo lists points to boost tourism". This refers
to a memorandum submitted by Datta D. Naik of the Margao based group called
Madgao First to the union tourism minister. "Madgao First demanded that the
Dabolim airport should continue to be domestic airport even after opening of
international airport at Mopa", the news report says. This is entirely
consistent with the stand taken by Churchill Alemao, MP, in his speech in
Parliament earlier this year. Hence those who oppose Mopa outright might
want to reconsider their position.
