Mini bus turns turtle at Bicholim
Jan 7 – Mini bus originated at Valpoi and heading towards Mapusa
turned turtle this evening at Karapur Bicholim injuring over 16
passengers.
According to some reports some of the passengers are very serious and
are admitted in Goa Medical College while others are admitted to
Sanquelim and Mapusa hospitals.
Drugs seized at Calangute
Jan 7 - Anti Narcotic Cell (ANC) today arrested two persons from
Haryana for possessing Charas worth Rs 11.50 lakh at Calangute.
Police found 3.5 kg of Charas in the possession of Ramesh Chander and
Joginder Singh while another 8 Kgs were recovered from their vehicle.
Churchill's meeting evokes poor response
Jan 7 - The anti Mopa meeting called by Churchill Alemao at Lohia
Maidan in Margao today received poor response with no MLA attending
the meeting. However, disqualified MLA Mathani Saldhana, attended the
meeting. UGDP leader Radharao Gracias resolved to destabilize the
government if Mopa airport is not withdrawn by the government before
January 26.
