Besides the enlightenment in religious orientation and wisdom as a Goan
(Indian) Christian, I am enlightened in 'Cultural ways' too. I/we are truly
modern and multicultural.
Whilst it's true that India can be termed as a 'multicultural Country'; it
should be noted that only Christians (community) are truly multicultural; as
indivduals and as a community and can be termed as multicultural!
No other group can put a claim to this. We are equally at home with Hindus,
(Brahmins and Chamars), Muslims, other Christian variants, Bhudhists etc.
Equally at home in any type and variety of European, Chinese, Japanese,
African and Indian (various) eating places. We are moulded into a culture
truly open to all cultures; Equally at home with South Indian Dosai, and or
Guju Dahi Wada, or noth Indian Aloo mutter and Tandoori Chicken; equally at
home with sannas or Rajastani rumali parata or western bread loaf. The same
can not be said of other communities and individuals in India.
We have no inhibitions built in, either to imbibe or shed anything or any
part thereof, of our inborn culture or that of others. Is this not an ideal
state of mind and culture encompassing all? Is this not true 'enlightenment'
and superior east-west culture? If not than what is?
For instance, I feel quite at home with anything dished out in a 'Kamat
Vegetarian' eatery, and equally at home in 'Longuinhos' the allterian
Restaurant, where all types of food is available to a 'gourmet's delight' as
well as in say a 'Delhi Durbar' in Panjim or anywhere. We have it in us to
eat, pork, beef, mutton, lamb, chicken, with the best of salads and vegies,
variety of soups (not confined to rassam) etc. etc.
Nothing inhibits us from choice of food or dress for that matter.
I/we have no taboos of ancient ignorant times, no hangups from the so called
ancient 'sages' of India who were certainly narrow minded, stupid and ultra
conservative to such an extent that they failed to gain an insight into: '
JOIE DE VIVRE! They are stuck up; grounded and sunk in filth! It's a pity
that the millions of modern Indians are still clinging to this sordid past;
refusing to go modern!
This I feel is the tragedy that is India!
Come follow me! Join in a 'cultural revolution', be enlightened; thereby
creating a 'Great Indian Enlightened Society'!
More on 'enlightenment' from anybody and everybody is welcome!

Can't help, if my discourse has been a 'nasty' surprise for the likes of

I AM ELIGHTENED and because of it, I do not 'worship' animals and other
like deities; and my enlightenemEnt and humanity teaches me to take care of
animals (not worship them) and the destitute, the poor and underpriveledged
persons etc.
I say, you should have learned these things in your VET School! Pity!
