Just a clarification... SecularGoa isn't mean to discussion religion, to bash each other's views or to critique what we see as the fundamental flaws in what *others* believe. It is meant to discuss issues of secularism and communalism, arising both within Goa and elsewhere (but relevant to Goa).
In addition, it's a by-invites-only list. We aren't intersted in people just voicing their views/bias, but we *are* interested in networking people genuinely concerned about the future of a secular state, and the ill-effects that communal ideologies have had on today's Goa or the Goa of the past. So Miguel is off-tangent in suggesting that SecularGoa is meant to "discuss God". It is not. After all, Hindutva doesn't equal Hinduism. The Ku Klux Klan isn't equal to Christianity. And Osama Bin Laden or the Taliban isn't the same as Islam. Some gnostic once said, "If God didn't exist, you would have to create him." An agnostic replied, "If god did exist, you would have to destroy him." These are all philosophical debates which we can sort out when we're six feet under, in ashes or wherever. The more important question is how that belief shapes my actions, as a person. Does it make me a better or worse, arrogant or insufferable person. --FN On 08/09/06, Miguel Braganza <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I second Cecil Pinto's suggestion and strongly recommend that Mario, Santosh > and the others who want to discuss God to form their own yahoogroup or orkut > group.
