That is why Cardinal Gracias never thought of holding Nehru to his promises to Goa. Indeed helped him to bundle Goa into India, lock stock and barrel without any safeguards. Today Cardinal Gracias would be honoured by Goans if Special Status for Goa was demanded and attained immediately after the so called liberation. Goa is still slogging on this issue after 52 years. So much for Nehru's confidence that he enjoyed.
