Just to add that my son played from age 7 for last 6 years.He really didn't like pleasure skating and he urged me to register him. Of course he skated from 3 and half.I got him to roller blade and I played ball hockey in a parking lot.I bought a little oversized new equipment so he was good for 2 years .later I bought used equipment online and last couple of years his association has a free first come first serve yard sale.only bought composite stick which is slighter.What is,really expensive is ice fees after working it over the season is about …$8 -15 per hr.so far its no contact hockey and he's a calm kid but there are kids,with issues.The way I look at being involved makes the winter go by quickly and be involved in community
