*TAG To Remember Antonette. Condolence Meet on 21st March.*
Tiatr Academy of Goa will pay homage to Tiatr Artiste late Antonette de Calangute who passed away recently at the condolence meet which will be held on Friday, 21st March 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at the Black Box, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. Antonnete Pereira popularly known as Antonette de Calangute on the Tiatr stage was born to Trindade and Matilda De Souza on 6th March 1963 at Gaura Vaddo, Calangute, Bardez Goa. Her late father Trindade was a talented musician and used to play violin. He used to also guide and help the village youth to write and produce village tiatrs on the occasion of Chapel and Church feasts. Her two elder siblings Damian and Maria used to act in the village Tiatrs. All this encouraged Antonnete to take up for acting. She first stepped on the tiatr stage at the age of twelve in a village tiatr written and produced by her fellow villagers Lazarus and Alex on the occasion of St. Alex's feast at Calangute. Thereafter with the encouragement from her family, Antonette started acting in tiatrs produced in Calangute as well as surrounding villages and soon began to gain popularity and came on the commercial stage and captivated the tiatr audience in Goa as well as abroad with her acting abilities. Tiatr lovers will always remember her especially in character roles for which she was well-known for.For the last couple of years Antonnette was not seen on the stage as She was suffering from renal (kidney) failure and was awaiting for a kidney transplant. She is survived by her husband Bonny who is also a tiatr artiste and sons Clifton and Collin All Tiatr lovers are requested to attend the said condolence meet and offer their tributes to this great tiatr personality. *Victor de Sa.* *Member Secretary*
