In 2011 the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization
(UNESCO) declared the 30th of April as 'International Jazz Day'. Each year the
International Jazz Day brings together artists, communities, historians and
jazz enthusiasts from all over the world to celebrate a great art form that
originated in America and spread out to every corner of the world.

Jazz Goa has participated in this international celebration right from the
inaugural year with concerts at Pamjim's Jardim Garcia de Orta. Each year a
host city is selected where the jazz legends themselves are featured, this year
the host city is Osaka in Japan. Jazz Goa received an intimation from UNESCO
about the possibility of having Goa as the International Jazz Day host in the
near future. Keeping this in mind, Jazz Goa in association with Houses of Goa,
has decided to host a spectacular event on the 30th of April at the beautiful
new Amphitheatre Houses of Goa built at Salvador do Mundo by renowned architect
Gerard da Cunha.

Besides a great line up of artistes from across India, around the world and Goa
of course, there will have some great food and drinks by Kudos and Madame Rosa
to compliment the music. Furtados Music is the official musical instrument
sponsor and some of the world's best instruments will be made available to the
artistes on stage.
Entry is free and seating is on a first come first served basis on the 30th
April, 7pm onwards. The venue phone number is 2410711.

Attached here is a letter of acknowledgement from the jazz legend Herbie
Hancock.
