COMMENTS: Well accepted that MoI is an issue that affects all Goans. But reading through all the statistics that Tomazinho has written as an educator, the question is 'DOES HE UNDERSTAND WHAT EXACTLY MoI IS??. GSRP believes that his thinking is wavering. For Tomazinho's kind information, MoI means that ' When a kid of 3 years of age, who has mastered his language of birth (understanding and speaking) sits on the learning bench of a PRIMARY SCHOOL, to learn about all the PRIMARY things that it will require to run its life ahead, with these DO's and DON'Ts imbedded in its bloodstream, never to forget ( even if these are later suppressed voluntarily, but echoing from within), in the language that it understands fully and completely. If at this stage, the kid is TAUGHT another Language because this language will make him the KING of the WORLD, the purpose is totally and completely defeated. Grants to Primary Schools was the BAIT that erstwhile MGP of Shashikala Bandodkar dangled in front of the school managements has nothing to do with MoI. Tomazinho, it would be worthwhile if you understood this before you call it a day. GSRP PS. MoI may not be just Konkani for Goans. It is also Portuguese and English on a percentage of 1-2 to 10, respectively, for Goa. BTW: Marathi cannot be MoI for Goa as it is a learnt language and not spoken language since birth by Goans, universally.
