Hi,

Greetings of peace!

SALGAOCAR FC BEGIN WITH COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMME FROM OCT 15
(SUNDAY)

CHICALIM: Salgaocar Football Club will commence their fifth edition of the Community Outreach Programme at Chicalim Panchayat ground, Chicalim, on Sunday 15th October.

The program was started in 2013 as an extension of the the Greens' commitment to developing talent at the grassroots level which has been unwavering, as the Vasco-based club is known for promoting and encouraging budding footballers.

Entering its fifth year, it's expected to be bigger and better! The Community Outreach Program will be conducted over 20 sessions from October to March with over 700 kids expected to join the programme. EachSunday, the children will be trained and observed by over 40 highly
qualified, trained and licensed coaches.

SALGAOCAR FC VICE PRESIDENT SWATI SALGAOCAR SAID, “We at Salgaocar FC have always believed that the only way forward for Indian football is to focus on grassroots development and the growing involvement of our community, year on year, shows us that we are not alone in this endeavour. Even if the kids do not pursue football as a profession, the discipline and teamwork they learn on the field will help them in any career they choose".

The program is open to boys and girls in the age group of 6-12 years. Last year, the Club witnessed the participation of over 150 girls, andthere has been a steady increase in their enrolment over the years.

The children from the vicinity of Vasco will get an opportunity to participate in interactive sessions which will lead to the creation of future Goan stars. The basics of ‘The Beautiful Game’ will be imparted to these kids using fun filled games, drills and small sided games supervised by the same professionally licensed coaches who train the SFC senior and youth teams.

Talented children who are interested in pursuing football at a pre-professional level will be selected by the Club's coaches to join their Youth Development Program, consistently hailed by AFC and AIFF as one of the best in the country.

Best,

Carol Mascarenhas
