Hourly wages

Even in the advance economies of the world hourly payment per week
appears to be the norm
Manual and skill workers are very severe here in Goa.As most of our
citizens having migrated abroad ,there is acute shortage of carpenters
,masons ,electricians, plumbers, tailors, bakers, pluckers, wood cutters
manual workers for roads, construction etc, there is a great inward
migration from Bihar,UP,Rajasthan, Bengal, Karnataka etc. There is huge
demand for domestic help.Noting shortage they have unitedly demand hourly
daily wages at Rs 100 .per hour. It is catching up and holding the
situation of demand to ransom . On the other hand daily workers with
expected demand for refreshments hardly work 5 hrs as against 8 hours and
much less than white colour employees, earning considerably less in
monthly wages.
Govt must consider skill training at the earliest and stop migration of
these categories for better prospects and also exploited in terms of
hours of work ,accomodation, food ,shelter and living conditions etc
In South the hourly demand for services by domestic help is gaining
momentum
