A Widow Sighs with Grief Destiny bound our lives by choice, Moments cherished, shared in joy. Years unfolded, endless they seemed, Hope’s gentle light at each bend gleamed.
Immersed in callings we did pursue >From humble roots to excellence grew. Through trials of life our mark was made, Each step of success a spark that stayed. Children educated, settled with pride, and joy A pearl and diamond—girl and boy. Far they nurture families of their own, Like distant stars on life’s wide horizon. Never once did sorrow’s thought intrude, We swam life’s oceans, brave and shrewd. Now agony strikes—alone I stand, Fate, destiny yet hard to understand. As parents, partners, husband and wife, We wove together a tapestry of life. Time and means for each other we spared, Now noon feels dark, despair everywhere. Wives endure the burden of years, Walking alone through silent fears. Together once, life’s battles we faced, Now faith alone must fill this space. To cherished memories, a toast I raise, For life’s rich blessings, the Divine I praise. In grief’s deep ocean, I strive to be brave, This lonely separation ends only at the grave. Moments of joy return to mind, Footprints of love you left behind. Impossible to loosen memory’s bind, A kinder companion I shall never find. My mournful thoughts rise in prayer, Seeking solace, answers rare. You glow among stars in the night’s dark sky, I search in vain for the reason why. With time, wounds heal, yet scars remain, Only the lonely know this pain. Endless mourning is sorrow in vain— No sight, no touch, no voice again.
