Hi Jorge
For a moment I thought it was you who had travelled to Karachi from Mombasa.
I think there are some possible errors in the article. There never was an MV
Asia plying between East Africa and the Indian sub-continent The ships that did
were very familiar to us who lived in Mombasa and travelled to Goa and back
too. A motor vessel (MV) did not cross the Indian Ocean, only larger ships
referred to as Steam Ship or SS did so. Further, it would take more than five
days to reach Karachi especially if the ship was really little as suggested by
the name. Even Mombasa is spelt incorrectly! Still, there are always exceptions
and I may well be wrong but I doubt it.
  Regards
  Cornel

    Goa, the way she was...
I think back to the mid-fifties and a lot more adventure. My father had
taken what was called his 'long leave'. We embarked on the "MV Asia" in
Mombassa, Kenya's natural and beautiful deep-berth harbour.
