For now, I will first address your daft point that, those attacking caste/casteism have an inferiority complex because they are not Bamons. Well, I am a republican at heart and reject monarchy. In short, I am an anti-monarchist despite living in a monarchy led nation like the UK. According to your logic, I display anti-monarchy tendencies because deep down, I really want to be Prince Charles or be in his shoes! Do you get my point? I have been a staunch anti-racist activist too. According to your logic, deep down, I really admired those racists that infested the UK in the past but couldn't be one because I was not white! Do you read me? I was strongly anti the Vietnam War in the early 1970s and actively demonstrated against it. As per your logic, all along, I desperately wanted to be an American and pro Johnson and Nixon and their Vietnam policy! I was strongly against apartheid in South Africa and actively demonstrated against it, often, in front of South Africa House in Trafalgar Square, London, and even got arrested once. According to your logic, I was a closet pro Afrikaner Boer all along! Those women who chained themselves to railings fighting for the suffrage/equal voting rights etc, did so because they were upset that they were not men who had the vote. Get it as per your logic? Can you now see how crazy your logic is about those supposedly resentful for not being Bamons and your logic's close overlay with the quick examples I have provided? Over Christmas, instead of indulging in feni and sorpotel, I suggest that, you urgently read something pretty basic about modern social movements on Google or wherever, to help us not to receive more of your nonsensical homespun philosophy. Social movements often have quite unexpected leaders and adherents. Because of them, the world is an infinitely better place to live in than when run by, for example, self-styled/thinking 'mullahs' with their home spun philosophy about women's education, their basic lifestyles and place in society etc. In this respect, I ask if you are any different in your bigoted expressions on Goanet about the anti-casteist social movement currently expressing itself on Goanet? And incidentally, re your go at Mario saying that he effectively had too much time on his hands to waste time on the caste issue, please note that it is generally accepted in institutions that if you want to get anything done in a hurry, you ask a guy who is really busy and does actually have little time on his hands. You are more likely to get an urgent task done by a busy guy than one who has loads of time but never delivers!. Believe you me, the anti-casteists on Goanet are really busy people otherwise, they would have taken your ideas apart much sooner. I ask too if you can recall if you have said anything remotely intelligent on Goanet? If you have, kindly point it out to me so that I can reflect on it. I also ask this because I was often told that Bamons had brains let alone class as stated by your good self! In another example, when you triumphantly said that, the reading age in the UK was nine, did you really stop to think? What you entirely misunderstood is that a reading age of 9 is enough to read our populist tabloid newspapers like the Sun, Mirror, Mail etc. These are low denominator papers but whose editors will have been to top universities. For good money, they generate papers for people who do not want to spend more than perhaps twenty minutes reading a daily newspaper (less than I require to read the Herald and Navind Times in Goa incidentally). In contrast, a whole day is not enough to read the quality papers in this part of the world. What do you think the reading age is of those who read the quality press? Go on, try and guess! You also said that you knew for a fact that the UK whites do not drink beers with Indians (South Asians). This is total nonsense. Clearly, you do not have the evidence (as also pointed out by Victor), and possibly have not been outside your comfort zone of ignorance somewhere in Goa I presume. Consuming beers is a business that requires many drinkers of every shade of colour. No publican can afford to have drinkers with racial chips on their shoulders today in any pub and it would be illegal too. I could go on and on but hardly need to continue this clear message to you that you really do talk nonsense on our esteemed Goanet. When are you going to grow up man? Sincerely Cornel DaCosta, London, UK. with a "petty education". edward desilva <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Bravo Gabe and Cornel, Because Gabe and you did not get killed and survived to tell your boasting tales in itself proves that Caste System does not exist in every day Goan life except in people who THINK they are of lower case and are suffering from inferiority complex (resulting from some petty education they have received which makes them think superior) . Mario is living in a quagmire, just trying to revive a debate where none exists.
