Bhandare, You are being clinically truthful when you say "I would rather want gandhism dead than Gandhi." I see your point -- events would have swung differently if Gandhi was alive; the very concept of Gandhism would not have existed and in so being, not a construct to benefit from -- for certain quarters, or the rallying force for millions. Perhaps in Gandhi's place or alternate space someone else would have emerged as a "leveller or strongman."
