What you see in Khajurao is human bodies in nude and not Hindu gods and
goddesses. One should clearly understand the difference when one is discussing
issues relating to the objections to Husain. As far as "many" temples with nude
carvings, the statement would give an impression that there is a very
significant numbers of such temples. I do not think there is a single temple in
Goa with nude carvings. And in the rest of India there would be less than 10,
as far as the important ones are concerned.

Marshall also wrote: "Hussain is one of India's most acclaimed artist whose
paintings and works of art command a high premium." Does this mean that he can
get away with painting Hindu gods and goddesses in nude? One of the other
objection to Hussain's painting is that he has exhibited his artisitic freedom
in such a manner only with respect to Hindu gods and goddesses. He has not
painted secular figures in such a manner, particularly not in erotic positions.
