Sachin, For some odd reason, I've always considered you a moderate. Now, I realise that I'm confused as to what constitutes a moderate, just as you are confused about what constitutes a secular democracy. MF Hussain without a doubt is a luminary in India's celestial sky. I wouldn't necessarily rush out to see one of his exhibitions because I am not a fan of that sort of art. I have however seen the man in interviews, and I am impressed by his congeniality and humility. I am so embarrassed as an Indian citizen, that this man is forced to live out the last days of his life in hiding. What exactly is it Sachin, that we are not supposed to be insulted by? These days we are insulted by films, art, public displays of affection, Richard Gere or even by people preforming chhat-puja. It seems one can hardly breathe for fear of insulting someone in India. Can we all just grow-up? One billion of us, fighting for scarce resources, we are bound to get on each others nerves, but when well-informed people like you desert the cause of tolerance, we have lost the game already. Incidentally, I never did get a reply from you as to why you thought banning Da Vinci code in India was wrong, while banning MF Hussain evidently is not. selma ____________________________________________________________________________________ Looking for last minute shopping deals?
