#2: I have no delusions that Hindutva elements were involved in the violence to an extent == jc's response Dear Anand, I am not sure that your first statement is entirely accurate in the manner it is phrased. That "Broken Peace" stuff HAS been challenged more specifically by you and me. My main questions have thus far remained unanswered. wrt to your second statement, I too have no doubt that Hindutva elements were involved in misdeeds, and are looking to get more involved in Goa. That is why I suggest that we, as a people, support moderate segment (the silent majority) within the two major communities in Goa + get together and work towards the betterment of Goa. There appears to be some strange Pride +/- Dog in the Manger +/- Stubborn Resistance to this attempt at primary reconciliation. Yes, primary because a lot of work needs to be done. We have Hindu Goans who want St. Francis to apologize for the crimes of the Inquisition (which were mainly against the Jews and NeoConverts), there others Hindu Goans who want Catholics to apologize for their faith ....and Catholics who want Parrikar to apologize for the atrocities during his watch. OK now .... accepting that we all (Hindu Goans and Catholic Goans) have the requisite proof that these crimes/atrocities actually link to SFX and Parrikar, I apologise for ALL crimes Known & Unknown, Real and Imagined, Based on Broken Peace alleged investigation or Priolkar alleged research ...or on plagiarised and crookedly edited posts from mischievous sites e.g. Christian Aggression etc. Happy? or are we still interested in the intransigent route taken by Palestinians v Zionists, Tamils v Lankans, and Hindutvas v others? I suggest this: IF we do not seize the moment and support the efforts of the moderates, we will drive them(the moderates) into the clutches of the extremists....and Goa into the hands of the Concrete Merchants. Let us learn from the bitter, divisive and tragic lessons of the Catholics v Protestants in Ulster. In conclusion (or as Anand would say ..."finally" ), I am totally bemused by the following from Selma Carvalho "Parriker and the BJP are the Hamas of Goa" I submit that Selma has a pretty intriguing impression of Parrikar and (more importantly) the Hamas. I also submit that by taking such hardline and unproven positions, we Goans are on the brink of converting fiction into reality. It would indeed be a self-fulfilling prophecy. Parrikar may have no choice (politically) but to mortgage the Goa BJP to the Hindutva elements. Then.... we can then pat ourselves on our respective backs. Bravo!! sincerely jc
