Panaji, March 31 The Curtorim MLA, Mr Reginaldo Aleixo Lourenco today demanded that the direct flight to Goa from the United Arab Emirates, to be cancelled from tomorrow, be immediately reinstated to avoid inconvenience to Goans. Mr Lourenco complained, I was woken up this morning by one of my many constituents who work in the UAE. He telephonically informed me that large Goan community based in the United Arab Emirates were given a rude shock early on Monday morning when they were informed that the only direct flight to Goa was cancelled from April 1. They will now have to travel via Mumbai. Bookings on the Indian flights (Indian Airlines) were accepted till even yesterday. Mr Lourenco continued, My constituent, Mr Pedro Fernandes complained, ËThis has ruined our whole schedule since I was supposed to travel to Goa with my family for vacation in the second week of April. With the cancellation of Air-India weekly flight from Dubai last year, Goans in the Emirates who were dependent on this lone service, especially the elderly and those with children will be inconvenienced greatly. He asserted that this service be immediately reinstated and he would see that the government intervenes and reinstates this flight service to Goa. navhindtimes.com ____________________________________________________________________________________ Special deal for Yahoo! users & friends - No Cost.
