Ballerines shine at Woogie Woogie 2008Kuwait After the achievement of the "Kidchamp 2008", the Ballerines has proved it again that they are born winners. 25th April 2008 was marked as another memorable day in the history of Ballerine's. The students of Ballerines won accolades for their hard work and efforts at the WOOGIE WOOGIE dance competition held at Shaab Leisure Park. All the students who participated exhibited the true spirit of competition inspite of the tough fight. The competition was divided into two rounds, first being the prop round for all categories followed by the Main round. The competition was organized by Karma Entertainment headed by the president Mrs. Chanda Sharma and Miss Melissa Fernandes. In the age category 9 - 11 years Janet D'souza, Simran Vohra, Sinatra Dias, & Natasha D'souza gave superb performances both in the Prop Round as well as the Main Round. Many of them received words of wisdom and appreciation from the honourable judges The age group 12 - 14 yrs witnessed some fabulous performers. Both Melinda Fernandes & Sharen D'souza rocked the audience with their mind-blowing performance. Both of them were declared the winners (first place) in this category. Melissa Fernandes once again revealed her true passion for dance and emerged winner (first place) in the 15yrs & above category consecutively for the 2nd week. The judges were impressed with her performance and said that she is born to dance. In the group dance category, Ballerines Twinkle's - Janet D'souza, Simran Vohra, Upasana Vohra, Tanya Fernandes & Kris Arshad danced to every beat with perfection and Ballerines Kittens - Rovita D'souza, Melinda Fernandes, Sharen D'souza, Sharon Lewis, Natasha D'souza, Sinatra Dias & Nikitha Fernando set the stage on fire with their performance. The Ballerines Kittens were declared winners (first place). The judges gave them a standing ovation and said they were too perfect to loose a point and they got 100% from all the judges.
