The premise that I am working on is that a large
number of Goans are disillusioned with what is going
on. Which means that they are not part of the big
business that you are talking about.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Floriano responds

No Sam, you're not wrong.

Goans need not only be disillusioned but driven or forced out of their
motherland for just one reason and one reason alone. For giving entry to
confidence tricksters, cheats and self-seekers through the front doors of
their homes since 1961 without questioning them how and on what basis they
will govern Goa. This responsibility lay and lies with institutions who
represent large number of people such as the religious institutions, the
NGOs etc. These have positively failed in this respect and let Goa and
Goans down very badly for reasons of their own. Should these institutions
take a corrective action, things can change overnight. But will they?? is a
million dollar question. My answer to you is that 'at best they will remain
totally and chastely "apolitical" on the face but absolutely political from
the inside, chosing sides that are worst than criminals to get maximum
benefits for themselves'. The fine example is the Church in Goa.

It is but natural that these scamsters should bleed Goa and Goans by selling
Goa to the highest bidder. If you get a chance, do read Pramod
Khandeparkar's depraved article in today's GT captioned " Goa not just for
Goans".

You want to salvage Goa with this type of attitude? Whereas, also read
Herald and NT editorials along with Shanti Fonseca's article in GT "Gram
Sabhas - Supreme Court of village democracies" and these will give you some
consolation.

Tell me if I am wrong, to bounce back the question when I say
"REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY ENDS THE DAY THE ELECTION RESULTS ARE DECLARED"

Subject: [Goanet] Why activists dont fight elections?

Floriano writes:

Sam,

Are you thinking aloud or hallucinating?

Have you not realised that winning elections is big
business for the winner
as well as the voter

My question to Floriano, are these the same voters
who are now fighting against the mega-housing
projects?

If so, then I see a contradiction there.

The premise that I am working on is that a large
number of Goans are disillusioned with what is going
on. Which means that they are not part of the big
business that you are talking about.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Samir
