Here are some random thoughts on the matter: 1. Be content with life wherever you are. 2. Understand that life is competitive - work very hard and honestly.. 3. You have to keep 'current' in your skills and learn some new skills if necessary. 4. (If abroad) preferences will be given to locals. 5. You have to have a skill which is required. 6. It is easier to acquire a totally new skill abroad. 7. You have to work extremely hard wherever you are 8. If you do not have the skills or expertise - a Portuguese passport will NOT assist you. 9. In general, think positive about the environment you are living in. 10. There are NO short cuts to what you have to do to earn a decent living. 11. In general - those who can compete in the UK, North American, Australian & Portuguese market - will make it 12. There is strong benefit in networking. Help each other out instead of just being negative 13. Those in the Middle East - make your poixe and choose what you want to do. Think of your children and not necessarily of yourselves. Do whatever you have to do to give them the best opportunities - be it in Goa or elsewhere....understanding that it is unlikely you will be able to make the Middle East your home. 14. Always remember - the Goa of your childhood is gone. It has improved in certain facets and been destroyed in many others. 15. Accept it and move ahead. Always help others - understanding that there will be some who will disappoint you but that many more will bring you joy. much love from here jc
