Of the total 26 letters in Englsih, we used only about 22 in konkani Like in most other languages, there can be no word without the use of Vowel ( a, e, i, o, u) Check the following combination and the sound that it makes. Compare the English equivalent sound with special emphasis on Capital letters of the words You will see that by adding same vowel to any consonant will give you more or less the same sound which changes with the first letter/consonant before vowel. E.g. Ba, Fa, Ka, La, Ra, Sa etc Will sound like BAba, FUn, COme, LUmp, RUm, SUn respectively.
