Dr. dos Reis Falc?o (I am not sure of his last name, must be Falcao?) makes a very interesting and valid point in 'rhetorically' asking whether there were any Goans among those who assaulted John Kelley. I was thinking -- no Goans means did an assault, a crime not take place. Its like no one hearing the tree fall in the forest. In this case no Goan to accuse. But then who would make the reparations on behalf of the non-Goans -- the Goverment of Goa, I guess?! Because of their services provided to put Goa on the tourist map, I guess too.
One also cannot but help think of the possibility that, if there was no assault on and Kelley, and had died in his room of other causes, then perhaps still Goans would have been wrongly accused or set up, and someone would be in jail and justice meted in some form. There will come a time when in terms of social interactions scholars will write papers on Goa, Goans, their ways, their strengths, afflictions, and bashfulness, and all manners of political interactions -- afflictions, cravenness, vicissitudes of lust (as in political) and excesses (a weak word in these times). Hopefully we will be around to at least read them before we close our eyes. venantius > From: Dr. Ferdinando dos Reis Falc?o <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: [Goanet] Shame on Goa Police. > > Why shame?
